This is the base installation. It will give you a bootable OS (Except the fonts) and a few basic utilities. To get anything useful you must install some of the optional packages aswell. The ZIP archives is used to install AtheOS from DOS. The base-atheos-0.3.7.tgz contain the same files but with normal (long) names and without the name-translation tables needed when installing on FAT. It can be unpacked onto the native FS to make a full install (The ZIP archives are missing a few files since some of the names only differed in case).
